Siggi Eggertsson is the first Icelandic designer to win the Art Directors Club Europe Gold Award.


In addition, Reykjavik Letterpress was nominated for the graphic design of Bland í búnti, a promotional kit that is a mix of information about letterpress printing as well as small cards people can tear out and use for themselves, such as greeting cards and To-do lists, and the gang Þorleifur Gunnar Gíslason, Geir Ólafsson, Jón Ingi Einarsson, Magnús Hreggviðsson, Hörður Ellert Ólafsson og Tryggvi Gunnarsson were nominated for their Filmünd for RIFF, Reykjavík International Film Festival.

Siggi Eggertsson, alongside the agency Jónsson & Le’Macks was awarded the Golden Star in the category Illustrations and Photography for their design for Landsbanki Corporate services.

The campaign (running from June 2011-present) consists of 12 illustrations that portray landscapes and scenes from Iceland – from the countryside to the capital, from fisheries to geothermal energy industry.


This is the third award for Siggi Eggertsson this spring: In March, he received the honorary prize at the FÍT Icelandic graphic design Awards for the Landsbanki campaign, and in April, he won the competition to design the Reykjavik Arts Festival poster.

– Siggi Eggertsson shows a remarkable perseverance in developing an established methodology that he adapts and translates to his personal distinctive style, the FÍT jury stated of the Landsbanki campaign work.

 Held annually, The ADC*E Awards is the only event in the world to bring together the best of European award-winning work under one competition. The work is judged by a panel of over 50 top creatives and showcased afterwards in the ADC*E Awards Annual.

The newest work by Siggi Eggertsson is his first full-wall mural for Iceland Design Centre. The painting covers an entire wall of the Iceland Design Centre headquarters, located in the heart of Reykjavik, capital of Iceland. We recently covered the project here.

Following his graduation in 2006, he has worked widely in illustration, graphic design, typography and animation, with previous clients include WallpaperWiredNew York TimesIceland AirwavesCoca Cola, Nike, Nokia and Mulberry. Eggertsson designed the DesignMarch 2011 festival identity for Iceland Design Centre. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
