Headed to Reykjavik this summer? We asked some of the local designers and architects about their best tips and favorites to the capital city.
Here are designer Hafsteinn Juliusson’s recommendations for his favorites in Reykjavik paired with illustrations by our super intern Florian Lohse. Now we might just head for a swim later on, ourselves, too… We hope you’ll like it, enjoy!
Try one of the classic circular hot pools in Laugardalslaug. The pools are a pure source of energy and inspiration. (To top the experience try the french hotdog after the swim)
Great place to meet with friends, listen to little bit of jazz. Make sure to try one of their local brewed beers.
Grab a beer, listen to rap, dupstep and trap music in this orignial 50-60’s style setting………. really interesting contrast.
Best burgers in town and location and the setting couldn’t suit this burgerjoint any better.
MAR is an interesting new restaurant in Reykjavík‘s old harbor. They offer delicious courses inspired by South-American and South-European cuisine.
In my opinion the best café in Reykjavík. Original interiors from the 60’s …… something really rare in Iceland.
You can’t visit Iceland without having a Bæjarins Bestu hot dog. Probably the best hot dog in the world.
Ps. We posted architecture tips by Petur Ármansson yesterday, take a look!
