Happy Monday everybody!

We lit our Christmas lights last Thursday and threw a little party to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.

We turned one empty corner of our office into a mini gallery. We are so proud to announce the first exhibition, Nátthrafn by Vík Prjónsdóttir. Nátthrafn is their newly launched product that is inspired by the bird raven. Made from Icelandic wool, the blanket seems black when seen from the distance, and shades of dark blue and green appear at a closer look – just like the bird itself. At the mini gallery, the blanket is displayed against a golden backdrop.

The raven loves gold and steals it – look into its nest, and you will find lots of things shiny and glittery. We wanted to emphasize his taste and create a sparkling entrance to the Iceland Design Centre,

says designer Brynhildur Pálsdottir of Vík Prjónsdottir.

We also signed contracts with our wonderful corporate partners Icelandair, Siminn, Morgunblaðið and Icelandair Hotels for DesignMarch 2013.
