Why hello! DesignMarch is just around the corner, we cannot wait – literally: Adriana headed over to Þórunn Árnadóttir‘s workshop to catch of glimpse of what is to come. She is part of the Designs From Nowhere project, opening in Spark Design Space, You wont want to miss this one!

Þórunn Árnadóttir is an Icelandic designer based in Reykjavík, working with clients internationally.
She graduated with MA in Design Products at Royal College of Arts in London 2011. Before that she finished BA in Product Design at Listaháskóli Íslands (Iceland Academy of the Arts) in Reykjavik in 2007. Þórunn has exhibited in galleries all over the world, such as the V&A in London and the Triennale design museum in Milan.
Thorunn was awarded the ‘Best Product’ award in ‘Accent on Design’ at the NY International Gift Fair, for the Sasa Clock, in 2010. In 2013 she was selected as one of the 50 talents that are shaping the future by Icon Magazine. And more recently she won the Grapevine Design Awards 2013 – “Product of the year” for PyroPet.

Designs From Nowhere explores the possibilities for design and small scale production in East Iceland, using local materials and resources. Four designers were invited to travel to the region at the end of September 2013 to work at local workshops.
