Hi hi, happy Friday!

The fantastically talented Finnish design agency Aalto + Aalto has designed the beautiful new Vakka box for Iittala, have you seen it already?

We were almost equally impressed by Mr. Aalto’s look in the official PR images – he’s wearing a traditional Icelandic lopapeysa!

Aalto + Aalto visited us for DesignMarch 2013, and some of their designs are available at the Finnish design store Suomi PRKL!.

The 2014 edition of the festival will be held on March 27-30, and representatives from Iittala will attend this year as well. Stay tuned – we will tell you more soon.

Here is a little more information about Aalto + Aalto:

Elina Aalto (b.1976) and Klaus Aalto (b.1975) opened their own design office Aalto+Aalto in 2010. The two designers share the desire to create functional, aesthetic and emotional objects that bring something new to the material field. It is typical of them to look for new points of view for everyday objects. Aalto+Aalto has designed products for Kekkilä, Selki-Asema and SavetheC, among others.

And you can browse more of their fantastic works here. Have a great weekend!
