This week’s Friday Candy is a fun take on the Icelandic staple wool. While knitting is lots of fun, we here at Iceland Design Centre are all for multitasking:

“Rocking-Knit” by ECAL/Damien Ludi, Colin Peillex is a new interpretation of the rocking chair. It offers its user productive moments of relaxation.

The to-and-fro movement of this armchair knits hats for the winter and requires no exertion whatsoever.

A team from ECAL is currently visiting Iceland – how about an Icelandic lopi edition, everybody?

Rocking Knit is part of Low Tech Factory by ECAL, a selection of machines designed by Bachelor’s and Master’s students of Industrial Design and Product at a workshop led by designers Chris Kabel and Tomás Král, introduced in Designer’s Saturday, Langenthal 3-4 November 2012.
