Started Friday with a trip to the Triennale, which is the main design museum here in Milan. Passed through the main exhibition, curated by Alberto Alessi and called the Dream Factory, it focuses on Italian design factories.

The weather was amazing so we went outside to the garden, where the The Lapin Kulta Solar Kitchen Restaurant had just opened up and offered suncooked asparagus and poached eggs. It is a really interesting project done by Catalan designer Marti Guixé and Finnish food visionary Antto Melasniemi. The concept is based on cooking entirely on solar energy. More info here.

After the mouth-watering experience I went to visit Spazio Rossana Orlandi, a former tie factory. Their space is amazing and the exhibition diverse, well put together and in my opinion, the outstanding one this year.

Feeling a bit rusty on Sunday morning, we went to Zona Tortona where the cure for the day was the Super Hot Dog, as they called it. Real street food that is appropriate for the area during the design week.

Here, a few more images from various exhibitions at Fuori Salone in Zona Tortona, Zona Lambrate and Zona Romana.

After seeing some interesting stuff and more not so interesting, I bumped into this quote which I think many designers should consider for next year:

Overall, the week was amazing, a lot of fun parties and good exhibitions! I am still digesting all the interesting stuff I saw and I have already started planning next year’s exhibition. But all good things must come to an end. Thank you for following my posts and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
