Nordic fashion takes over The Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle in September!

The event is called Nordic Fashion Biennale, and it will feature a varied program cool style from up North, including a 3-day-symposium on sustainability, cultural heritage and branding and an exhibition, Looking Back to Find our Future, curated by New York-based Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardottir (known for collaborations with Björk and commissioned work for MoMA, NY).

Some of the featured designers include Bibi ChemnitzHildur Bjork YeomanGudrun & Gudrun,Vik PrjonsdottirSteinunn Sigurdardottir, and Aftur.

Looking Back to Find our Future will include fashion and jewelry from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Sweden, and Norway. Cutting-edge contemporary fashion, design, and installations throughout the Museum will blur past and present, highlighting traditions of craft and creativity in Nordic design. The exhibition will demonstrate how important the influences of nature and heritage are for Nordic designers.
