Iceland turns pink every October, with various activities organized as part of the annual support campaign for Krabbameinsfelag Íslands, the Icelandic Cancer Society.
We wanted to share a fantastic addition to the campaign – a slip road in the shape of a bow painted pink in central Reykjavik.
With concept work by Brandenburg, it was the women’s team of the basket ball team Valur along with the Seltjarnarnes rescue team took up the voluntary work that included some 500 liters of pink paint and 1600 square meters of asphalt.
Outcome: possibly the largest pink ribbon in the world to date to support breast cancer patients, survivors and their families.
Here’s a short video in English of the making of the project:
Fantastic, don’t you think?
