Design Forum Finland and Iceland Design Centre, the two national design promotion agencies join forces and “move to Stockholm” for Stockholm Design Week. The pilot project WE LIVE HERE explores new, collaborative ways to promote Nordic design on international venues.
After meeting regularly – “dating” – for the past few years, we have decided to move in together to Stockholm, Sweden during Stockholm Design Week 2015. Our new home is in an apartment located in the Stockholm city centre. We are so excited! Our home doubles up as exhibition and event space, where we invite our local friends over, get to know the Swedish design community, open the moving boxes and spread our own things around to make the space feel more like a home, perhaps even put down some roots.
Our home hosts a collection of superb contemporary objects, both known ones and new launches from Finland and Iceland mixed with Swedish design. The exhibition comments on the way we live in the Nordic region today.
Our home will also be a venue for intimate events – our housewarming party, dinners, after parties, breakfasts – during the design week. We look forward to getting to know our new home country and the design community, building our network, finding new friends and meeting the old and dear ones again. WE LIVE HERE will also be open for media and public.
